About Me
.......Debbie Moon
I am a Dental Hygienist and currently work in a general practice four days a week and teach Dental Hygiene at Moreno Valley College part-time. I have developed a passion for teaching that has led me to explore implementing technology in the classroom to enhance the student's learning experience. I subscribe to the Constructivist theory of learning, supported by social and situated learning theories.
I have a BA in Dental Hygiene from Northern Arizona University and will graduate with a Masters of Arts in Learning Technologies from Pepperdine University in June 2012.
Outside of work and school I enjoy spending time with my husband, kids and grandchildren.

MY BELIEFS AND VALUES
I am passionate about supporting the growth and education of others.
I want to move students towards being expert learners who are able to transfer skills.
I want to maximize the potential of technology to develop students’ understanding, stimulate their interest, and increase their proficiency in dental hygiene.
I use technology to expand beyond text-based learning and to engage students who learn best in other ways.
I implement technology as a versatile learning tool that changes how I can demonstrate concepts, assign projects, and assess progress.
I believe in empowerment.
I will treat all people with the same respect regardless of race, gender, ability, or disability
I strive to be humble, considerate, honest, kind, forgiving and wise.
Each day I will say something kind to, and about someone else; thank those that have helped me, and do something kind for someone else.
In everything I do, I will be guided by my values and shall give it my interest, my enthusiasm, and my passion.
